"It’s a rarity to find cricketers in this day and age that’ve been at the same county throughout their career, from the fledglings of their cricketing journey in the youth system to excelling so consistently for over a decade as an opening bowler. Joe is one of these remarkable, loyal few and that’s why this testimonial is so well earned and deserved."
It’s a rarity to find cricketers in this day and age that’ve been at the same county throughout their career, from the fledglings of their cricketing journey in the youth system to excelling so consistently for over a decade as an opening bowler. Joe is one of these remarkable, loyal few and that’s why this testimonial is so well earned and deserved.
When I think of what Joe has accomplished for Worcestershire, it’s hard to look past the foundations of all the success being attributable to some of his incredible characteristics; resilient, humble, fiercely competitive and an ability to thrive under pressure and in doing so lead by the highest example. However, what stands out the most is his appreciation and devotion for Worcestershire County Cricket Club and everything wearing the county cap, number 476, means to him.
I count myself so fortunate to be able to say I played with Joe and to call him a great friend. At 559 career wickets and counting, there’s no doubt in my mind he’s etched in the clubs history as one of Worcestershire’s modern day great bowlers. Leachy, have a fantastic year! The club is lucky to have someone like you.
