I have always seen Joe as one of the best opening bowlers in the county game. Whenever you need a wicket or a change of fortune he is the go to man, good luck getting the ball out of his hand if he is on a roll and after one of his long spells he will certainly remind you of just how many overs he has bowled and how “tough” bowling is!

His excellent cricket brain mixed with his clever vocabulary has meant I have been on the receiving end of some well delivered home truths but you can rarely win a verbal battle with Joe.

He is highly respected within the game, personally he has been a great friend and someone I have turned to for advice which has helped me progress in my career. It is a well deserved testimonial year for Joe which I know will be very well supported.
